January 20th, 2015: Moved to San Rafael!!!
My biggest news of the last month is that I just moved out of San Francisco! (Although I’m still very close...) My wife just accepted a new administration position with the Green Music Center, which is an amazing performance venue located up in Sonoma County, and associated with Sonoma State University. It would definitely have been too far to commute for her, but most of my playing work and teaching is in San Francisco, so we settled on San Rafael as a good in between place to live. We are renting a house, and so far loving life out in the burbs. San Rafael is a beautiful place, and only about 15 minutes north of San Francisco.
I’m going to continue all of my freelancing and teaching as usual, but just will drive in to do it. So far the new system has been really easy, and my wife is really enjoying her new job. I have a room in our new house that is a totally dedicated trumpet studio. I will post pictures soon when I’m done setting it all up.
